Emma Jacobsson

Biography
The founder of the Bohus stickning association (Bohus knitting association), married to Malte Jacobsson, the county governor of Göteborg. She was born in Vienna, where she found an early interest in artistic studies.
She changed course and was awarded a PhD in Botany. She had a determined, methodical temperament, with high demands for quality in everything she did.
Emma Jacobsson was the driving force, along with friends in Göteborg, behind a scheme for a cottage industry in knitting. Bohus stickning was founded as a non-profit organisation in 1939.
