Annika Malmström - Bladini

1929 - 2015
Biography
Annika Malmström-Bladini was active in Bohus stickning and was the first textiles artist to be employed by the association. She had trained at Anders Beckman’s school in Stockholm; her teacher, Göta Trädgårdh, introduced her to the association’s founder, Emma Jacobsson. Her employment started in 1952. Her colour compositions were exquisite and she delighted in working with the specially-made angora wool that was available in an endless range of shades. She also produced patterns of an entirely different character, such as “Spjutspetsen” (arrowhead), which was strict and plain.
