Carl Bengtsson

Carl Bengtsson (born 1952) is one of Sweden’s most acclaimed fashion photographers. Starting his career in the 1970s, he has developed an international reputation for his poetic and personal visual language, where portraiture and fashion merge into evocative and timeless images. Bengtsson has worked on both Swedish and international fashion assignments, and his photographs have appeared in publications such as Vogue, Elle, Sunday Times Style and Financial Times. In the Röhsska Museum’s collection is a fashion portrait from 2006 and the book Portraits (2011), both of which exemplify Carl Bengtsson’s distinctive way of combining portrait photography and fashion into images that capture both presence and atmosphere.
