Description
One of the most famous female narrators in the art of woodblockprints was Kitagawa Utamaro. In his last work, an illustrated book published in 1804, depicted the life of Yoshiwara. The book's title was "The Annuals of the Green House". The male guests sitting curled up in the window and look out over the garden while the snow falls. Housing women are doing their morning chores like cleaning and cooking breakfast.
