Description
Chair with seat and back in concrete, the back also functions as a rear leg. Armrest and front legs of tubular steel. The concrete chair was produced in 100 signed and numbered copies. Also made in small series of lacquered wood. When Jonas Bohlin showed the Concrete chair as his degree project at Konstfack, it received great attention and is now regarded as a Swedish design classic. Since its launch, this work by Jonas Bohlin has become a watershed in Swedish furniture design. Concrete fulfils no objective quality criteria, but it still exists. It can’t be avoided. The chair stands there, like a concrete grey and slightly rusty exclamation mark, a memorial to a time when everything changed.
