Description
Ingeborg Lundins’ vase ”The Apple” has come to be synonymous with Swedish modernism. It was created for the legendary exhibit H55 and was quickly embraced as a design classic. The simple organic shape without any décor is typical for the 1950’s. When Lundin started working at Orrefors in 1947 she was the only female designer at the company. Her designs are often described in terms of poetic and free and the Apple perfectly encapsulates her voice as a designer.
