Description
The 'PH5' was designed in 1958 by Danish designer Paul Henningsen, who launched the very first lamp in the PH series in the 1920s. The PH-lamps are characterised by a system of multiple shades that cleverly reflect the light source without causing glare.
The name PH5 originates from the designer's initials and the large outer diameter of the shade, which is 50 cm. The lamp consists of four outer shades and two inner ones. The overall shape is said to be inspired by a cup, a bowl and a saucer stacked on top of each other. PH5 is intended to hang low over a table.
