Description
Swedish glass with overlays was often decorated with motifs taken from the flora of the Swedish summer. Linden leaves and blossom decorate the body of the vessel. Designer Gunnar Wennerberg worked with glass in two periods, for the World’s Fair in Paris in 1900 and the Stockholm Industrial Exhibition in 1909. He was employed at Kosta from 1898 to 1908. Axel Enoch Boman was the most skilled glass polisher, as can be seen in the polished overlay decoration in opaque linden blossom green against a semi-transparent pale green background.
