Description
Cartoon, pattern for this tapestry by Alf Wallander, completed in April 1907. Weaving was finished in January of 1908 and it was shown at the Stockholm exhibition of 1909. Warp in unbleached linen yarn, 5-6 threads/cm. Elements of wool yarn, 12 threads/cm. Mainly in green shades, pale violet-pink and brown. Silk in bright yellow, blue-green, pale blue and violet-pink, particularly in the peacocks. Width 295 cm, fringe loops in the warp along the tapestry’s short sides. Border of henbane and moonwort, 36 cm wide, around the entire tapestry.
