Description
Urn of painted earthenware from the Yangshao culture, in the so-called Banshan style from northwestern China. The vessel is decorated with geometric bands and zigzag motifs in black and reddish-brown, including a so-called “dog-tooth” pattern. This type of ceramic ware is often found in burial contexts and is associated with Neolithic funerary rituals.
