Inspiration East Asia

On the third floor, the East Asian collections are on display, showcasing some of the earliest objects acquired by the museum, mainly from Japan and China. Visitors entering the stair hall are greeted by a large Buddha sculpture, Budai, carved in lacquered wood, accompanied by two marble guardian lions.
